Description :
Pause for Perfection depicts a lone hiker standing at the edge of a rocky overlook, pausing to take in the sweeping view of a snow‑covered mountain rising above a dense evergreen valley. The scene is rendered in Weathermon’s characteristic realism: crisp mountain light, controlled brushwork, and a balanced palette that captures both the cool alpine atmosphere and the warmth of the foreground. The composition emphasizes scale and solitude, with the small figure set against the vastness of the Northwest wilderness. It is a classic example of Weathermon’s ability to blend technical precision with a sense of quiet, reflective adventure. Dick Weathermon is a Pacific Northwest painter recognized for his detailed oil landscapes featuring mountains, forests, wildlife, and outdoor recreation scenes. His work reflects a deep familiarity with Washington’s terrain and a strong commitment to traditional realism. Weathermon studied at the Burnley School of Professional Art in Seattle (later the Art Institute of Seattle), where he received formal training in drawing, composition, and commercial illustration. This background shaped his precise rendering style and his ability to create structured, atmospheric landscapes. His paintings have been displayed in respected Northwest venues, including: Gallery North (Edmonds, WA) Kirkland Art Center (Kirkland, WA) Various regional juried exhibitions and Pacific Northwest art shows 11” T X 13” WArtist Bio — Dick Weathermon
