Description :

At the turn of the last century, CB Atkin Co (Knoxville, TN) was the world's largest wooden fireplace mantel maker. While this piece from Atkin is a hutch, we have no doubt it is as well-made as the company's mantels. Given that most production used local Tennessee hardwood, we think this is probably maple.

Especially appealing is the compact size of this hutch - you don't have to have a huge space to have this great storage unit. Brass hardware on hinges & pulls with louvered lower swing-out doors and glass upper swing-out doors. Shaped feet supports and curves through throughout add a little designer panache. Can separate into 2 sections for easy transport or if you prefer to use only a single section.

Measures approx. 68" total H (with that dimension divided almost exactly in half between the top and lower portions) x 36.25" W x 18" D.

Note that our client tapped a finish nail with a small piece of wood in several places to create stops for plates displayed vertically. They are easily removed and the remaining hole virtually invisible. See last photo.
