Joseph Lorusso "Regulars at Lucky's" Framed Oil on Board

This framed oil on board painting titled "Regulars at Lucky's" by Joseph Lorusso depicts two men seated at a café or diner table, each absorbed in reading, rendered in a realistic style with expressive brushwork and warm, muted tones. The composition features striped green wallpaper, a cream-colored tabletop, and a dark wood frame with a gold-tone inner liner that complements the artwork. The reverse is inscribed with the artist's name and title, includes a Howard/Mandville Gallery label, and retains handwritten gallery inventory notes and a gallery price tag.

Born in Chicago in 1966, Joseph Lorusso is an internationally acclaimed artist renowned for his warm, dreamlike landscapes and figurative paintings that capture the intimate beauty of daily life. He received formal training at the American Academy of Art and earned a B.F.A. from the Kansas City Art Institute, majoring in watercolor while teaching himself oil painting by studying masterworks at the Art Institute of Chicago. Deeply influenced by early trips to Italy and masters like Sargent, Whistler, and the Impressionists, Lorusso focuses on color, texture, and emotion to create timeless scenes that trigger deep connections with the viewer. Beyond his personal portfolio, he spent over a decade as an artist for Hallmark Cards, has taught at prestigious art institutions, and has earned widespread recognition in numerous global exhibitions and top art publications.
