Description :
Classic pair of KLH Model Seventeen acoustic‑suspension loudspeakers, produced by KLH Research & Development Corp. of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Designed in the late 1960s, the Model Seventeen is one of KLH’s most respected bookshelf speakers, known for its warm, balanced sound and efficient 8‑ohm performance. These units feature the original cloth grilles with KLH badges, rear connection panels with factory markings, and walnut veneer cabinets. The Model Seventeen was engineered as a two‑way sealed system using KLH’s well‑regarded acoustic‑suspension design, offering smooth midrange response and tight low‑frequency control. Cabinets are constructed with real wood veneer over solid, well‑braced enclosures. Both speakers retain their original KLH drivers and crossover network. Visible serial number on one unit: 173844. Historical Note: KLH was founded in 1957 by Henry Kloss, Malcolm Low, and Josef Hofmann—three influential figures in early American hi‑fi development. Throughout the 1960s, KLH became known for its innovative acoustic‑suspension loudspeakers, which helped define the sound of the era. The Model Seventeen was one of the company’s most successful designs, valued for its reliability, musicality, and approachable size, making it a staple in mid‑century home audio systems. Dimensions (each):12" L × 9" W × 23" H Condition: Cabinets show surface wear, scuffs, and finish loss consistent with age. Grille cloths intact. Rear panels and terminals present with clear factory labeling. Sold as-is and tested for functional audio performance.
Dimensions : 12 in L x 9 in W x 23 in H
