Description :
Set of three blue‑and‑white porcelain plates attributed to Meissen, each bearing hand‑painted crossed‑swords marks on both the decorated face and the underside. The marks are loosely rendered with visible brush irregularities, consistent with sloppy or decorator‑applied versions of the Meissen crossed‑swords emblem, a motif first introduced by the Meissen manufactory in the early 18th century and still used—always in cobalt—across its porcelain output. The plates feature traditional Meissen‑style floral decoration in cobalt blue, with each piece showing slight variations in brushwork typical of hand‑painted porcelain. Undersides include impressed numerals and painter’s marks often associated with production tracking within the Meissen workshop system. The group presents well as a cohesive decorative set. Meissen Mark Notes (General, Verifiable) The crossed‑swords emblem is the longest‑used porcelain trademark in Europe, adopted by Meissen around 1720. Authentic Meissen marks are always applied in cobalt underglaze. Variations in sword shape, hilt form, and line precision occur across periods, painters, and production tiers; sloppy or uneven marks are documented on later‑period and decorator‑applied pieces. Impressed or incised numbers typically indicate mold or form numbers used by the manufactory. Condition Sloppy hand‑painted crossed‑swords marks on face and underside of all three plates Cobalt floral decoration intact with expected age‑related wear Minor firing marks and small production imperfections visible No major structural issues observed
