Description :
Vintage Taiwanese Blue & White Porcelain Teapot with Dragon Motifs A mid-20th century porcelain teapot, decorated in traditional blue-and-white underglaze with dynamic dragons among clouds. The globular body supports a tall rectangular handle and an elongated spout, both detailed with scrolling foliate designs. The fitted lid is painted with concentric rings and cloud motifs, topped by a knob finial.
The underside bears a red square seal mark along with “Taiwan R.O.C.”, indicating production in Taiwan during the Republic of China period (circa 1950s–1980s). The crackle glaze visible at the base is characteristic of decorative Taiwanese porcelain from this era, often produced for export. Key Features Form: Tall-handled porcelain teapot with globular body and domed lid Decoration: Underglaze cobalt blue dragons in flight among stylized clouds Handle & Spout: Painted with scrolling designs Mark: Red square seal with “Taiwan R.O.C.” on the base Glaze: Crackle glaze finish, typical of mid-20th century Taiwanese production Historical & Collecting Context: The dragon motif is a long-standing emblem of strength, authority, and imperial power in Chinese art. During the mid-20th century, Taiwanese porcelain factories reproduced classic Ming and Qing blue-and-white designs for both domestic use and international export. This teapot reflects that tradition, blending symbolic imagery with a distinctively bold form
