Description :
Antique Roycroft Copper & Brass Bookends – Arts & Crafts Era A finely crafted pair of Roycroft Arts & Crafts bookends, featuring hammered copper face plates with embossed floral medallions and brass inlay borders. The decorative rosettes at each corner highlight the handwork that Roycroft is celebrated for, blending functionality with artistic design. Their warm patina and solid weight make them an excellent example of early 20th-century American craftsmanship. Maker: Roycroft (attributed) Style/Period: Arts & Crafts, early 1900s Material: Copper with brass inlay and embossed floral motif Measurements (range): Approx. 5–6" tall × 4–5" wide × 3–4" deep Condition: Good antique condition with expected patina, minor surface wear, and age-related marks. Historical Note: The Roycroft community, founded by Elbert Hubbard in East Aurora, New York, was a cornerstone of the American Arts & Crafts movement. Their copper workshops produced some of the most collectible and enduring metalwork of the period. Bookends such as these were often handmade by skilled artisans, making each pair slightly unique. Value: Comparable Roycroft copper bookends have sold in the $150–$250 range, depending on condition, rarity of design, and market demand.
