A traditional Eskimo yo-yo, hand-crafted from fur and string, with two weighted fur balls attached to cords for play. This unique Alaskan toy was made by Sitka Arts & Crafts (Sitka, Alaska) and comes with its original printed instruction sheet. The instruction sheet includes hand-drawn illustrations and handwritten location notes (Quinhagak, Alaska), providing cultural and regional provenance.

  • Maker: Sitka Arts & Crafts, Alaska

  • Era: Mid-20th Century (circa 1950s–1970s)

  • Material: Fur, string, and fiberboard bases with drawn faces

  • Size Range: Each ball approx. 2" diameter; string length approx. 18–20"

  • Provenance: Includes original instruction sheet with hand-drawn graphics and artisan signatures

Historical Note:
The Eskimo yo-yo is a culturally significant toy from Alaska Native traditions, designed to test dexterity and coordination.
