Description :

Concept & Commemoration
The Texas Rangers Frontier Battalion Tribute Rifle was created in cooperation with the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco to honor the original permanent Ranger force established in 1874. This working Winchester Model 1873 rifle, chambered in .45‑LC, recalls the organization of the six companies tasked with maintaining order across vast and unruly frontier territory

Design & Aesthetic

Featuring a 24-inch octagonal blued steel barrel, the rifle is richly decorated with 24-karat gold and nickel overlay. The right side of the receiver portrays Rangers sharing a meal beside their horses, while the left illustrates Capt. Bill McDonald and Company D Rangers in pose with their rifles, all framed by elegant scrollwork and topped with banners reading “Texas Rangers Frontier Battalion” Gun length-43.2

Function & Heritage
Although adorned as a collectible, it is a fully operational lever-action firearm, mirroring the very rifles that became a mainstay for frontier law enforcement. The Winchester Model ’73 platform earned the moniker “The Rifle That Won the West,” and today’s tribute rifles, made under licensed craftsmanship, embody that legacy

Edition & Availability
This tribute edition was strictly limited to 500 numbered units, each shipped with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Historical Comparison
Whereas the Texas Rangers Bicentennial Tribute Rifle is based on a Model 1866 carbine chambered in .44‑40 with a 19″ barrel and limited to 500 units, the Frontier Battalion Tribute Rifle uses the slightly later, more iconic Model 1873 in .45‑LC caliber with a 24″ barrel and also limited to 500 examples. Both editions carry exquisite gold- and nickel-plated art honoring different chapters in Ranger history
