Description :

Description: A hand-painted Nippon porcelain pitcher, adorned with vibrant roses cascading across a warm brown and golden-yellow background. The floral motif is rendered with delicate brushwork, typical of early 20th-century Japanese export ware.

Design: Graceful bulbous form with a flared spout and ornate handle; richly colored roses in pink, red, and coral tones over a mottled earth-toned ground.

Materials: Porcelain with hand-painted enamel decoration; likely gold trim at rim and handle (pending image confirmation)

Dimensions: Approx. 10" H

Condition: Appears excellent; no chips or cracks noted in listing. Paint and gilding condition to be confirmed via image.

Historical Note: Marked “Nippon,” this pitcher dates to the Meiji or Taishō era (1891–1921), when Japanese porcelain was exported under the “Nippon” mark to appeal to Western markets. Floral designs were especially popular, often symbolizing prosperity and seasonal beauty.

Collector Appeal: Nippon porcelain remains highly collectible for its craftsmanship and romantic aesthetic. Pitchers with bold florals and intact gilding typically range from $40–$150 depending on maker and condition.
