Description :

This rare and elegant pair of vintage Rookwood bookends features a stunning high-relief design of sailing ships set against a stylized backdrop of billowing waves and wind. Dated TXXXIV (1934) and stamped 2695, these ceramic bookends showcase the exceptional craftsmanship of the Rookwood Pottery Company during its Art Deco period.


Finished in a classic ivory matte glaze, these nautical-themed pieces were modeled by Gwen Lux (monogram "GL"), a noted Rookwood artist and sculptor.
