Description :
An excellent decorative and literary lot featuring a collection of nine (9) vintage hardcover books accompanied by a pair of striking 1980s brutalist-style metal bookends. The bookends feature an embossed brass-tone flying mallard duck set against a dark silver-tone cut-out design of tall cattails, complete with their original felt-lined bases to protect your shelving. The accompanying books span classic literature, poetry, and early-to-mid 20th-century fiction, boasting a beautiful variety of colorful cloth bindings, Art Nouveau embossed detailing, and gilt-stamped spines. Vintage Bookends: One (1) matching pair of mixed-metal style bookends featuring ducks and cattails (circa 1980s). Includes an authentic maker's/designer's foil label on the underside. Featured Literature: Includes titles by Ernest Hemingway (The Sun Also Rises), Alfred Tennyson, William Shakespeare, Beatrice Burton (The Flapper Wife), and Mrs. Stowe (Harriet Beecher Stowe), among other decorative vintage editions. Items are in vintage condition. The bookends show light, age-appropriate surface wear and minor patination to the metal. The books show varying degrees of shelf wear, spine bumping, corner rubbing, and natural page toning consistent with age. Please review all high-resolution photos to assess the exact condition of the book bindings and the maker's label on the bookends.Lot Details & Featured Items:
