Description :
"Psyche" is a unique original ink wash and pencil on paper by Duncan Grant, a member of England's Bloomsbury Group* whose best-known member was Virginia Woolf (our client was an internationally known scholar on Woolf's work). Purchased in London, framed with conservatory glass in a highly decorative frame, and beautifully set off with a circular inner mat. Lovely example of Grant's later work of the 1940s. Measures 22.25: H x 22" W framed. * Bloomsbury was a group of authors, artists, and intellectuals in the early 20th C in England. Members included Vanessa Bell, Virginia & Leonard Woolf, John Maynard Keynes, E.M. Forster, Roger Fry and numerous others who often published with the group's Hogarth Press imprint.
