Description :

This original artwork by Danny Mayes captures a whimsical, minimalist scene of three small figures flying two brightly colored balloons against a soft, open background. Mayes uses restrained linework and gentle washes to create a sense of lightness and motion, letting the negative space do much of the emotional work. The orange and blue balloons drift upward, giving the composition a playful, uplifting feel, while the figures—rendered in his characteristic simplified style—anchor the scene with warmth and charm.

Double‑matted in pink and blue and framed in black, the piece has a clean, modern presentation that highlights the delicacy of the drawing. A lovely example of Mayes’ ability to shift from bold Northwest expressionism to intimate, narrative‑driven illustration.
