Description :

Richard Kirsten Hoshin (#948 of 950)

Approx. 17" x 29" A limited‑edition work by artist Richard Kirsten, Hoshin carries the same contemplative, luminous quality seen across his other pieces. Numbered 948 of 950, this print sits near the end of a tightly controlled edition—an appealing detail for collectors who value scarcity and completion within a series.

Richard Kirsten-Daiensai (1920–2013) was a Seattle-based painter, printmaker, sculptor, and Zen Buddhist priest. His work blends East Asian aesthetics with spiritual reflection, often exploring themes of love, gratitude, and the transience of life. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Washington, and spent decades traveling between Seattle and Japan, where he drew inspiration from Buddhist temples and shrines. His art is held in collections across the U.S. and Asia, including the Seattle Art Museum and the Library of Congress.
